ReactOS (Alpha) - A Free OS replacement for Microsoft

I have tried ReactOS on a virtual machine via Sun VirtualBox. Tomorrow or soon, I shall put this on a real harddrive as a real OS installation for testing.

ReactOS is open source. but it is NOT Linux, therefore it has none of the complexities of "most" linux/unix systems. Installation is very straightforward. If you can install windows 2000/XP then definitely you can also install ReactOS. Above all, it is "binary compatible" with windows 2000/XP, meaning you can windows applications and drivers.

Though I would like to remind everyone that ReactOS is still on alpha stage. Nevertheless feel free to try it for yourself. Go get it here, it is just 32.5MB for the zipped ISO.

my apologies for the very late reply.

@JarAxle:

to this point, i haven't installed ReactOS in a physical harddrive. i will do my best to do further testing tonight.

although i have encountered many BSODs while in VM, it seems like it has inherited a lot of Windows bugs too.

for now, i wont recommend it for an internet cafe setup.
